Annual Rollout & Shining Star Awards
J.C. Hart Company’s Annual Roll Out and Shining Stars Awards ceremony was held on February 28th at the beautiful Biltwell Event Center in downtown Indy. This event highlights the company’s accomplishments as “One J.C. Hart”, and recognizes those who excelled in their roles and surpassed their goals during 2022.
Towards the end of each year, J.C. Hart’s Executive team gathers feedback from its Associates, asking what aspects of J.C. Hart they enjoy the most, what things we should keep doing, what things we could do better, and what new things might make J.C. Hart an even better place to work. The Executive team then uses this information when doing their annual planning for the coming year. J.C. Hart came together at the end of February for our “Annual Rollout” meeting, where the leadership team highlighted the major accomplishments of the past year and to put forth a vision for the new year, using all that feedback they had collected at the end of 2022.
Perhaps the most important thing that happened in 2022 was the transition of our leadership from John Hart as CEO and Pamela Carrington Rotto as COO to Charlie Kurtz and Mark Juleen taking each of those positions, respectively, and John becoming Chairman. Other highlights of 2022 included: being named Best Place to Work in Indiana for the 11th time; the groundbreaking of our East Bank project in Noblesville, IN; the sale of Ivy Towns & Flats (West Lafayette); the completion and grand opening of Continuum (West Lafayette); and being named the Indiana Apartment Association’s Management Company of the Year! It is always nice looking back at such great accomplishments but looking forward is really what the Rollout was all about.
Charlie, Mark, and the rest of the Executive Team laid out 3 priorities: Management Realignment, Investment Strategy, and Speed to Shelf, with a focus on Teamwork, KPI’s, communication, and more autonomy.
After the company’s Annual Roll Out, we enjoyed a cocktail hour with beer and wine and delicious appetizers while having the time to socialize and connect with all members of our team, especially those we don’t see very often. It is always a great time when J.C. Hart comes together to distinguish the hard and professional work of our Associates that drives our success and makes us One J.C. Hart. Charlie Kurtz, CEO said, “I enjoyed seeing everyone at the Summit and Annual Shining Star Event and I’m excited to be emphasizing our Core Value of Teamwork in 2023 as we execute our priorities of Realignment, Investment Strategy and Speed to Shelf. Our success and pursuit of Excellence, will require a team effort and plenty of collaboration! Since it is March Madness, I wanted to share this quote from Phil Jackson, former Chicago Bulls coach, “The strength of the team is each member, the strength of each member is the team’”.
