J.C. Hart Company Named 2014 Business of the Year in Carmel

CARMEL, IN, DECEMBER 11, 2014: J.C. Hart Company, Inc., a Carmel-based multi-family residential developer, was named Business of the Year at the Carmel Chamber’s December 10 annual awards luncheon at Ritz Charles.

The Applause – Business of the Year award is presented to a business based on their success in growth and stability, commitment to quality, creative and unique solutions to challenges, entrepreneurial spirit and overall contribution to the community. The Business of the Year Award was presented to J.C. Hart Company, a 38 year-old business with 110 employees and 2,586 residential units in Hamilton County that they have or are building, own and manage. The company’s Core Values are Integrity, Innovation, Development, Passion, Teamwork to achieve Excellence, and their focus to “out-love and out-care” for our residents and business associates is what drives them every day. In 2014, the company received six industry awards from the Indiana Apartment Association, including Property Management Company of the Year; Maintenance Technician of the Year; two best floor plan awards; best curb appeal; and best clubhouse/leasing office. The company also has a strong philanthropic focus on education, United Way and a commitment to individualizing employee giving with company matches to support the Susan G Komen Foundation, and paid days off to volunteer.

J.C. Hart is committed to Hamilton County

J.C. Hart is increasing its presence in Hamilton County, and specifically, Carmel, Indiana, with the recent purchase of 12.81 acres of property at 136th and Illinois, financed through Fifth Third Bank. The 235 unit apartment community, called Highpointe on Meridian, will be comprised of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom garden style apartments and townhomes and six 3-bedroom coach homes and is currently under construction. Highpointe is a planned development which will also include an assisted living facility and commercial offices.

J.C. Hart has also just started construction on a joint venture with Atapco Properties of Baltimore, MD that will include 283 luxury garden style apartments, called Lakeside Apartments of Carmel, located near Guilford and Carmel Drive. J.C. Hart currently owns three communities in Carmel that have been built over the past 12 years including North Haven of Carmel, near 96th and Gray; One One Six Apartments at 116th and College; and Legacy Towns & Flats, located on 146th Street, between Hazel Dell and River Road. J.C. Hart is also currently adding a second phase of 77 units to Legacy, consisting of twenty 1 and 2 bedroom garden apartments, four duplexes, twenty 2 bedroom townhomes and thirty-three 3 bedroom townhomes. The duplexes and townhomes include their own private one or two-car attached garages. This will bring J.C. Hart’s portfolio in Carmel to 1,339 apartment homes, or about 29% of their total 4,554 unit portfolio.
