J.C. Hart's 14th Annual United Way Campaign
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Winston Churchill
J.C. Hart Company is a company that likes to give back. In November, the month of giving, J.C. Hart held its 14th annual United Way Campaign where its Associates participated in three virtual meetings centered on United Way’s themes of “Give, Advocate, Volunteer.” When choosing to give, Associates pledge anywhere from $1 to $60 a week through a payroll deduction. Every donation to United Way helps to support organizations working every day to confront intergenerational poverty. These organizations provide basic needs, support early child care and learning, economic mobility and safe and affordable housing. Between our United Way campaign and the cash we raised selling raffle tickets at our annual holiday celebration, J.C. Hart Associates raised $42,267 for United Way. Amazingly, there were 44 Associates who either increased their pledge this year, or were first time pledgers, and were treated to a lunch by John Hart as a thank you for their generosity.
But that’s not all! J.C. Hart Associates donated toys, books, and games for children served by Woodland Christmas Club for Needy Children, which provides food, clothing, wish list items, new shoes and winter coats to disadvantaged families in Hamilton County. J.C. Hart also asked our Residents to get in on the act. Their donations of food items helped provide emergency meal kits to Meals on Wheels clients in the Indy metro area and to Mobile Meals of Toledo. And finally, J.C. Hart Associates volunteered in early December to help St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center sort and organize clothing, toys, books and holiday gift bags for the 350 children and siblings who attend St. Mary’s. It could be described as “organized chaos” but the families who received those large gift bags for each of their children were so grateful and overjoyed with what they were able to provide to their families. We thank our Associates and Residents for their love and generosity this past holiday season. Here’s to another year of giving back and making an even bigger impact in 2024!
