United Way Propel Event
On April 25th J.C. Hart Associates showed up to support the United Way of Central Indiana Propel Grant event where we learned about innovative solutions for challenges many Hoosiers face. Seven organizations received an opportunity to pitch their new ideas that are meant to reduce barriers and help our neighbors thrive.
These organizations provide services in Hendricks, Marion, and Hamilton County working to support housing, legal assistance, access to healthcare, education, job skills training, the alleviation of food insecurity, and two organizations specialized in services aimed at assisting and empowering immigrant families.
Our very own Charlie Kurtz had the opportunity to serve on the panel of judges that awarded the $40,000 grant to Eclectic Soul Voices Corporation. They are looking to fund a new housing project called Cookies Corner that will be nine individual two – or three – bedroom apartment homes for single parents that are 18 to 22 years old. These individuals will be able to live rent free and receive the wrap around services of education, workforce development, and healing centered resources and opportunities to create self-sufficient civically engaged lives.
Charlie said that this was such a difficult decision, as all of the organizations do such impressive work. At the end of the day, the judges came down to which organization has the largest impact and sustainability.
J.C. Hart is proud to contribute to these great causes, proud of Charlie’s involvement, and encourages others to learn more about the organizations and how they might get involved!
